This section details the events that occurred in the Wildstorm titles when the "World's End" storyline began which saw Armageddon come to the Wildstorm Universe. The titles are roughly listed in their order of release.

(SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT)

2008-
  • The hero Love Rocket teams up with Black Halo as they search for a large portion of the hero population that has gone missing ( see The New Dynamix series).
  • A long lost team of heroes called The Paladins are shown to exist in the Wildstorm Universe. It is revealed they have been held captive for over 60 years in a virtual reality program called the Number of the Beast. The events surrounding the program trigger events that lead to Armageddon. The Paladins along with the resurrected hero The High are unsuccessful in stopping the future shown to Nemesis and the other heroes. The Earth is left in ruins (see Number of the Beast series).
  • The Authority is now a shattered team, living in a badly damaged London, called now Unlondon. After the Number of the Beast events left Earth a shadowy wasteland, the Authority vows to protect what's left of the city, facing their own shortcomings. Swift now uses her powers to be a messenger and a transmitter, due to EMP disabling every communication system, and additionally care for birds, unhinged and unable to function in the hostile ecosystem. Apollo and Midnighter are now separated, as Midnighter stays on earth, fighting mutates and helping people, and Apollo is forced to live high in the photosphere, where enough sunlight radiations are able to pierce the smog covering the planet. A badly crippled Jack, and a completely powereless Angela Spica reside now in the dead husk that once was the Carrier, now a corpse dimensionally fused to London ruins, used as a safehouse for survivors. (see The Authority Vol. 4: World’s End series).
  • Jackson King and Stormwatch P.H.D. orbit the devastated Earth in Skywatch III, trying to figure out how to help the ruined Earth (see Stormwatch P.H.D. #13).
  • The Gen 13 kids, having been stuck in a teleporter when the world ended, arrive in the post-apocalyptic world disoriented and confused as to what happened (see Gen 13: World's End #21).
  • Lynch, head of the former Team 7, tries to convince Dane and the Wetworks into rejoining the Team, in an attempt to reverse the devastation and restore Earth to its former state. Dane refuses his proposal since he doesn't believe anymore in a simple solution, and prefers tasking the Wetworks of defending humanity from the vampires. (Dane: Loyalties)
  • Slayton must escape from the mutated experiments held within International Operations Research and Containment Facility #42 in New Mexico. Slayton is required to use his powers in order to survive, revealing that he retains the ability to turn into mist, as well as use his psi-whips. After escaping the facility, Marc laments not having his costume and plans to seek out some of his former Team 7 cohorts. (Slayton: Gauntlet)
2009-
  • Gen 14, another batch of S.P.B.'s created by the now defunct Tabula Rasa, is discovered by remnants of the U.S. government (see Gen 13: World's End #26).
  • The Authority and Stormwatch P.H.D. team up against Eidolon and his Army of the Mad. Afterward, they are able to return some power to The Carrier (see The Authority: World's End #6).
  • The Halo Building is destroyed in an attempt to stop Lord Defile and his Daemonite forces, as well as Majestic who has gone mad (see Wildcats: World's End #12).
