SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT
Synopsis:

Cole Cash lies drunk on the ground, his body propped against a hollowed-out building. It is the dark of night in a South American ghetto.

A young boy stands over Cash, screaming at him in desperation. He recognizes Cash as the superhero called Grifter, and implores his help. A group of roughnecks are bleeding his poor community dry. The boy believes the men are aliens.

The large, grotesque men carry the boy away, as one of the men punches Grifter in stomach. Grifter lies on the ground, face-up in the rain. All he wants is another drink.

Meanwhile, Priscilla Kitaen has arrived onboard the space station that is home to Halo Solutions. Priscilla is at the receptionist desk waiting for Hadrian, the former leader of the Wildcats and now-president of Halo Solutions.

Under Hadrian’s direction, Halo Solutions has become a financial juggernaut due to its technological inventions, most notably the popular Halo 3D phone, which has revolutionized communications.
Also, Halo’s Spartan family robots are revolutionizing the personal security industry. Mass produced in red, white and blue colors, the Spartan robot allows anyone who can afford it to have their very own superhero.

Hadrian finally comes out to meet Priscilla. The pair, who were once teammates as Spartan and Voodoo on the Wildcats superteam, reconnect quickly.

Priscilla has come to talk about Hadrian’s offer, but warns him it’s going to be hard to beat the tips she makes exotic dancing for oil mogels and billionaires.

Hadrian scoffs. Thanks to Halo Solution’s high-tech innovations that have revolutionized the world, his company is worth three trillion dollars. And his personal wealth alone is valued at 500-billion dollars.
But Hadrian’s offer isn’t for Priscilla to join Halo Solutions. He reveals he’s been itching to get back into the superhero business once again. Thinking of the old days as leader of the Wildcats fascinates him all over again.

But Hadrian doesn’t want to take the reckless, irresponsible, even adolescent, approach that the Authority have been known for in the past. He wants to approach being a superhero from an adult perspective.

With a wink of the eye, Priscilla has an idea on how adult superheroes should act. She and Hadrian retire to his personal quarters have have sex.
Hadrian continues his conversation about regathering the Wildcats to reform his cover action teams, and he wants Grifter and Warblade on the team, as well. There have been rumors of Daemonite activity that need to be addressed.

Meanwhile, in a galaxy beyond the reaches of Halo Solutions, Kaizen Gamorra, an alien terrorist, has been reanimated. And this time he has friends. Namely, Hellspont, the viscious leader of the Deamonites.

Further into the reaches of th galaxy, Deamonites have infiltrated the planet of Khera and are threatening the Omnia Codex. Zealot, a Kheran warrior nun, aids her sisters in defending the Codex. They get a huge helping hand from Majestros, a male warrior who has returned to Khera just in time to destroy the attacking Daemonites with his solar-powered eye beams. Majestros warns that the Deamonites are next headed to Earth, a place Zealot has never heard of.

Meanwhile, under the moon of the Tropic of Capricorn, Grifter has sobered up. He lights a cigarette and relazed, but is caught off guard by a roundhouse punch. The grotesque men have returned, and have begun to revert to their true alien states. The aliens train several guns on Grifter, and are about to kill him. Instinctively, Grifter springs into action, taking one of the guns from the aliens, which he then uses, in a violent display, to obliterate the remaining Daemonites.

The young boy who was earlier abucted by the Daemonites approaches Grifter to congratulate him. Finally, his town has its own superhero.
But this all took place in June, just a month before the Worldstorm.
