SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT
Synopsis:
While testing the newly rebuilt M.I.R.V. aircraft, Spartan, Warblade, and Ladytron discover a lush forest where there once was only desert. They return to Halo and tell the other Wildcats. Jodi says that it might be the Nevada Garden created by the original Engineer that was believed to be destroyed.
When they arrive they find a small encampment of people on the edge of the forest. They say that no humans are allowed into the forest because there are some sort of monsters guarding it. The Wildcats decide to investigate and after venturing into the forest, they are attacking by monstrous animal-like creatures. Jodi recognizes one of the monsters as Gramalkin, an old ally of her father. Grifter realizes that the rest of the creatures are Kindred. Paris, formerly of Stormwatch P.H.D., is leading the group and tells the Wildcats that they are defending the forest for the surviving animals, not for humans. Spartan tries to reason with Paris but Grifter steps in and engages Paris in a fight.
"Slayton: Gauntlet-Part 1"
Marc Slayton is held up in a panic room deep within Internal Operations Research and Containment Facility #42 in New Mexico. He was running an inspection when the power went out and all the mutants and monsters contained escaped and massacred everyone but him. After a week of no contact with anyone, Marc decides there's only one thing left to do. Fight his way out.
