The Chasers
First Appearance: Backlash #2Roster: Brawl, Gaze, Homicide, Recoil
SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT!
History:
The Chasers are a team of superhuman bounty hunters employed by the United States government to hunt down the fugitives Backlash and Taboo.
The team first tracked Backlash to Chicago where they encountered Officer Dragon. The trail turned cold briefly before the Chaser unit eventually tracked Taboo to West Virginia. Homicide, Gaze, and Recoil weren't much of a match for Taboo, and it was up to Brawl to apprehend her with only minimal force. Taboo was moved to the Stonewall Federal Armory, and the Chasers provided security until her transfer to Purgatory Max.
When Backlash attempted to rescue Taboo once again, Homicide came into conflict with the former member of Team 7, but posed little threat to him, easily falling to Backlash's experience. Following Taboo's escape, the Chasers initiated a back-up plan utilizing a tracking device which had been implanted into her during her incarceration. Before initiating the plan, the Chasers were forced by Department PSI into convincing Taboo to give herself up voluntarily, much to General Gant's objections. Homicide and Brawl approached Taboo in civilian attire, but the mission quickly went FUBAR. Homicide suited up and broke in, only to be taken out once again by Backlash.
The Chasers were providing security to the Behemoth project when the facility was attacked by the D'rahn and their ally, Haroth the Mage. All were killed except for Brawn, who later joined Wildcore, a team put together by his former quarry Backlash.
