Synopsis:
"Slayton: Gauntlet-Part 1"
Marc Slayton is held up in a panic room deep within Internal Operations Research and Containment Facility #42 in New Mexico. He was running an inspection when the power went out and all the mutants and monsters contained escaped and massacred everyone but him. After a week of no contact with anyone, Marc decides there's only one thing left to do. Fight his way out.

"Slayton: Gauntlet-Part 2"
Marc Slayton continues to battle up the levels of I.O. Research and Containment Facility #42 against the monsters and mutants that escaped. One of the monsters captures Slayton and he's forced to use his ability to turn into mist. While it allows him to escape, it can only be used once a day. It also only allows him to take with him whatever is closest to him. He makes it to the 3rd level but finds that he not only left all his clothes (except his underwear) behind but also his cybernetic leg as well.

"Slayton: Gauntlet-Part 3"
After using his ability to turn into mist and making it to the 3rd level of the I.O. Research facility, Marc Slayton fights his way to a weapons storage unit. Once inside, he attaches two machetes to compensate for his missing leg and proceeds to arm himself with a flame thrower. Before he engages the monsters on the current level, he sets a bomb that will detonate in ten minutes and ensure that none of the monsters with escape the facility. Unfortunately, he now has a
time limit to escape the facility as well.

Slayton: Gauntlet Chapter 4
Marc Slayton realizes that he will not make it to the hatch before the explosives he set detonate. He braces for the explosion but none comes. He deduces that one of the creatures may be intelligent enough to have disarmed the explosives. He decides to increase the levels of oxygen in the facility and ignite them with a spark. As he tries to finally exit the facility, the creature that disarmed the bomb reveals itself and uses it's mental powers to freeze Slayton. But Slayton has one trick left up his sleeve as he activates his energy whips and ignites the oxygen causing the facility to go up in a ball of fire.

After narrowly surviving the blast, Slayton sets out to find out what caused the facility to shut down in the first place. He sees a ruined city in the distance and then sees the message indicator on his hand from John Lynch. He realizes that the end of the world has come and decides to answer Lynch's call.
