Gen-Factor
First Appearance: WildC.A.T.s #1 (Grifter & Lynch)
History
A mutagenic factor that changes the DNA of its host, resulting in the host gaining extraordinary powers. The factor is heritable; it can be passed from generation to generation, as in the case of Team 7 members passing it on to their children in Gen 13 & Dv8.
The factor apparently allows the individual to tap into an extra-dimensional, alien power source and channel the engergies found therein. The source of this is the hero from another dimension, Sigma.
The Gen-Factor can be removed from an individual, reverting him to a normal human, but removal of the Gen-Factor is dangerous and often fatal.
