The action heats up as the 4-part Eye of the Storm event continues! The interdimensional victims of Tao's scheme launch a surgical strike on a major metropolitan center. In a bloody counterattack, the Authority fight back, but will it be enough? Meanwhile, Jack Marlowe and his covert team of Wildcats look on in anticipation. Will the Halo Corporation survive this coup? Will Marlowe bring his formidable powers to bear on the aliens in service of humanity?

SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT
Synopsis:
TAO, a former Wildcat and team traitor, resurfaces with two associates, rogue government agent Holden Carver and Miss Misery.

The trio trick the US government into accepting and setting off a phase engine to enter the Bleed. Unbeknownst to the government, the device is powered by a miniature black hole, which becomes unstable in the Bleed, and creates a large hole.

An alien shiftship belonging to an alien race called the Vigil crashes through the hole in the Bleed, causing the aliens and ship to crash into Florida, destroying the entire state.

Jack Hawksmoor and the Authority are angry at the government’s attemp to enter the Bleed, and the resulting catastrophe. They decide to declare they are taking over the government of the United States.

Jack Marlowe (formerly Spartan of the Wildcats) speaks to the Authority about the dangers of using endless cycles of violence for what amounts to be only short-term effects. He dons his old Spartan uniform to make a point. Marlowe urges the Authority to look at the long term, but he is ignored.
Marlowe does what he feels is sensible for his position. He ignores the Authority and continues to run HALO. In his mind, the Authority’s hostile coup d’etat will only have short-term effects. He decides to concentrate on the long term goal of improving people’s lives.
