SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT
Synopsis:Backlash is cruising over a lake on a hovercycle, heading toward
Helspont's submarine Behemoth. He had been approached by
Diva of
StormWatch, who filled him in on Helspont's plan to find the three
Daemonite keys that operate the Dreadnaught, the massive Daemonite starship buried somewhere in Nicaragua. With the Dreadnaught, he could literally destroy the world. Backlash begrudgingly agrees to go after Helspont. Meanwhile, the
WildC.A.T.s and
Wetworks have teamed up despite ill will between the two groups and are searching for the Behemoth themselves, with little luck.
Next it is revealed that the person who approached Backlash was not actually Diva but was
Mr. White, a shapeshifting Daemonite in the service of
Lord Defile. Defile wants Backlash to slow Helspont down so Defile can find the keys himself, and he also hopes that Helspont will kill Backlash in the process. On board the Behemoth, Backlash discovers that most of the crew is still being revived from cryosleep, so he reveals himself and attacks Helspont. They fight but eventually Backlash is overpowered.
The action cuts to
SkyWatch, where we see the real Diva preparing StormWatch to go after Helspont themselves.
Back on the Behemoth, Helspont throws Backlash into the sea, but Backlash comes around and pulls Helspont in with him. They fight and again Backlash is beaten. Helspont leaves the scene in his submarine, and it appears that Backlash will drown. At that last minute he is saved by
Nautika from StormWatch. They patch him up and he agrees to help them go after Helspont.
Savant,
Mr. Majestic, and
Union are excavating a site in Nicaragua, trying to locate the Dreadnaught.
