SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT
Bio:
The man known as Azrum was originally a human wizard appointed as an advisor to the Kherubim Lord S'ylton, the ruler of Atlantis in preparation for battle with the alien race known as the D'rahn. Azrum, along with the Soul Weaver known as Tapestry (whom he was romantically involved with) and Haroth the Arch Mage, was responsible for casting the spell which imprisoned the D'rahn while Lord S'ylton kept them busy. He was saddened by the loss of his Kherubim Lord, and carried the memory that S'ylton was betrayed by his First Knight Ferrian.

After the Battle of Atlantis, Azrum chose to live life as a mortal while also enhancing his mystical prowess, becoming a renowned archaeologist and expert on lost cultures. He even took on a human apprentice named Ito who became his companion in his work, both mystical and archaeological. The discovery of the Scroll of Displacement in the present day led to Azrum and Ito attending a museum exhibit where they encountered the Arch Mage Haroth attempting to steal it. Azrum did his best to stop Haroth, but lost his apprentice Ito in the ensuing battle. He escaped with a young girl named Jodi Slayton and ended up encountering his formed lord's son, Marc Slayton (a.k.a. Backlash).

Azrum revealed the dire urgency of Haroth's theft of the Scroll as well as the potential threat of the D'rahn. An attack on the Department PSI HQ by Haroth immediately led to Director Giovanni granting permission to send a team to Atlantis to stop the D'rahn from being resurrected. In short, the mission failed, and the D'rahn were freed. After the threat of the D'rahn was fully realized and Marc Slayton recruited Ferrian, the supposed traitor who Azrum hated with a passion, Azrum agreed to find a mystical way to defeat the D'rahn, while Backlash and his team took a more proactive role (Backlash #32).

Azrum eventually found the Soul Weaver in her sanctum in the Himalayas, but was taken captive by Tapestry and her latest plaything Soma. He failed to properly warn Zealot when she led a team to rescue him. Shortly after, Azrum and the rest of Wildcore were flung into a parallel reality. Despite being brainwashed, Azrum's spells convinced him to help Ferrian gather the other brainwashed members of Wildcore. After assembling the rest of the brainwashed Wildcore, Azrum aided the team in its battle with Tapestry. He returned with the rest of the team to Earth, where he joined Wildcore.

Azrum was with the team when they went to stop the breakout at Purgatory Max. He was ambushed by the mystic fiend Molokio and believed killed during the mission (Gen-Active #4).
